Woo hoo!
I just had my first Rock 'n' Roll dancing lesson
It was for freestyle rock 'n' roll which is where you learn different moves
but the dance isn't choreographed.
I learned the basics,
the low spin,
the high spin,
the flick and half turn
and the 'under the arm twice'.
It's rather easy but looks really effective.
I love, love, love it.
I have no partner and had to dance with an instructor in his 60's but that was to my advantage because he knew what he was doing.
I can't wait for the next lesson.
Happy Days, here I come.
Sounds like lots of fun Esther. I can see you smiling and looking forward to the next lesson. Thats the problem when you do lessons, often there aren't enough partners, or there are, but old. At least he knew what he was doing. Do you dress up in the bobby socks and swing skirts.
ReplyDeleteNo, I actually dressed rather tame for me...just jeans, dunlops and a 50's polka dot shirt. I wasn't sure what the dancing would be like so I didn't wear my heels like I usually wearing to my ballroom dancing lessons. Apparently every so often they have a social dance and people dress up for that which I'm looking forward to.
